Thanks to everyone at Two Valleys for inviting us (Marsden Jazz Festival) to do our Jazz Hour this evening. We had a great time! What a bummer about T mobile cutting you off! And String Fellows were great.. glad you'll be able to slot them in tomorrow.

twovalleysradio - ages ago 21st July 2010, 7:45pm
Sorry guys - looks like t-mobile have now cut us off - that's all 3 of our mobile broadband sticks. So if you're tuning in to try and listen to Stringfellows - sorry guys - we'll record it and transmit it after Meltham Mills Brass Band at about 8.30pm tomorrow. And I will be queuing up at the T-mobile shop first thing in the morning!
twovalleysradio - ages ago 21st July 2010, 7:11pm
the lovely people at T-mobile have told us that we have been broadcasting too long and, although we have paid them lots of money, we have exceeded their fair usage policy and if we keep going they are going to cut us off. If we could pop down to a shop and buy another mobile broadband stick we would... but shops are closed now! If anyone has one hanging around and can rush up to Meltham - we would love you for ever. Til then we'll carry on as long as we can.
twovalleysradio - ages ago 21st July 2010, 7:05pm
not just you Paul. Apologies - having a few problems with our mobile broadband up here in Meltham but should be back on now - you might need to refresh your page if you have any probs

I despise Radio 1; I love Two Valleys... But then that's just my opinion!
Two Valleys Radio - ages ago 20th July 2010, 9:13am
Compared to the amount of money spent on Radio 1, your thoughts that them only being better by a mile is pretty good! Listen in today James, i'm sure something'll tickle your fancy :)

Hear you go!!! You did ask me too :). Recently there have been many reports that are disheartening. Thanks to all those fairy tales we hear, many women have been kissing frogs in hopes of finding their prince. There is nothing wrong with that because that myth is totally true. The problem is that many of these women have not been kissing frogs, they've been kissing toads. As we all know, toads do not turn into princes. Only frogs turn into princes. So for all you ladies who are looking for prince charming you must first be able to tell the difference between a frog and a toad. The first way to tell toads and frogs apart is their skin. If you find your target amphibian and you pick it up and think to yourself. "This isn't so bad; this frog isn't as slimy as I thought it was." Well that's because it's not a frog. Toads are the ones that have the dry skin. The frogs absolutely have slimy skin, that's the whole point. Witches aren't going to turn frogs in to something that people don't mind kissing, that wouldn't make any sense! Witches make princes into something slimy and disgusting that princesses will not want to kiss. You can also tell frogs and toads apart by their legs. The frogs are the ones with the long strong legs and webbed feet. Toads have very short legs. The reason is that the long legs make frogs able to jump farther, making them harder to catch. The reason being believe it or not, not all frog princes want to be kissed by princesses. Why? Because Disney are liars! Not all princesses are beauties, some are very ugly. The frogs can also see a princess' beauty or uglity from a far distance because of their bulging eyes. Frogs have bulging eyes, toads do not. Frogs also lay eggs in clusters while toads lay eggs in long chains but that has nothing to do with princes and princesses.

Talking about folk I bumped into Jonny today- he runs the Commercial in Slawit - and they've started a folk evening which he said was really successful. Can't remember when it is - perhaps someone knows. Great programme
mike - ages ago 19th July 2010, 5:39pm
yes there is a limit on how many times you can fold a piece of paper! it was on QI lol
Adam - ages ago 19th July 2010, 5:28pm
There is no upper limit on how many times a piece of paper can be folded. There is a practical limit but that's just because a piece of paper the size of earth is pointless. Of course there are more TV sets in America than there are people in Britain, there are more people in America than there are people in Britain by a factor of ten. Antarctica is a continent. It has no cities. therefore...

There are more TV sets in the America than there are people in the UK. Also, On every continent there is a city called Rome

i read flipside at my school sometimes, its interesting (: and my 2 factoids are - the first hockey pucks ever were made out of cow poo. And - Sharks and rays are the only animals known to man that don't get cancer. Scientists believe this has something to do with the fact that they don't have bones, but cartilage.

What a splendid show commemorating a difficult period in British history. I am certain this broadcast would bring a smile to the face of people who lived through the era, providing they can work this new fangled internet lark!
Andy Burton - ages ago 17th July 2010, 10:22am
I thought I had time travelled into the 40's when I tuned in, have I? Do I know who I am or where? probably not but Gill and I will be up to find you shortly to deliver The Flying Shed radio drama which involves much time travel. Your broadcast from Meltham is sounding marvellous and mellow here in Wellhouse.
Paddy - ages ago 17th July 2010, 10:05am
