• Sharing Memories at Brockholes

  For the past few months we’ve been working alongside Holme Valley Sharing Memories Group, collecting stories and memories from a group of people who remember the Holme Valley well. A few days ago we took the tales, and the people that told them, to Brockholes Primary school, where their fascinating stories encouraged a few of the younger generation to share their memories too!

  We heard about ration books, boiled sweet boxes, piano lessons and high heels, and we even had an authentically dressed (apart from the high heels…) war-time singer perform in our caravan! You can now listen again to the broadcast to hear the stories and music yourselves.
