We’re back again, and this time…
Literature and Libraries!
First of all we hear from Write Out Loud co-founder Julian Jordan about a new programme of Poetry Open Mic events at Marsden Library. As part of our aim to be the audio newspaper of the Valleys we like to focus on issues in the community. With this in mind, there has been a lot of meetings and discussions about the future of libraries in the area so we get into the nitty gritty of new Kirklees Libraries developments after a public meeting at Honley Library on Saturday.
We keep up the literature feel with some more poetry from a performance by valley-based Alison Lock, accompanied by Robin Bowles at Huddersfield Town Hall a couple of weeks back. She has a new collection of poems out which is available through her website. From poetry, to theatre as we speak to Laura of Theatre Tots, who’ll be bringing their early years theatre production to the Marsden Mechanics this weekend.
And of course, a quick round-up of everything to do in the valleys in the next couple of weeks, in the Valley Round-Up!
It’s the audio newspaper for the Two Valleys and it’s live at 6pm every Monday!
